Second-year Master’s students in Process Technology and Environmental Protection from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade visited the Vinča Resource Recovery Center.
On this occasion, the Belgrade Waste Management PPP was presented to the students as well as facilities treating construction and demolition waste, leachate, landfill gas and a new sanitary landfill. This visit also included a tour inside the EfW Facility.
Beo Čista Energija, a private partner in the Belgrade Waste Management PPP, is pleased to showcase to our students and professors in Serbia the activities carried out in the modern center for waste management in Vinča, which is unique in the region and enables the improvement of knowledge.
The students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the professors of the Department of Process Engineering, PhD Dušan Todorović and PhD Nikola Karličić, have been following the project development for three years, from its inception, during construction, to the testing phase. The collaborative exchange of knowledge during these visits was a unique opportunity for both parties.
The implementation of the project “Vinca Recourse Recovery Centre Project” was supported by UNDP Serbia through the project “Innovative and Just Green Transition as Tool for Securing Systemic Energy Security and Reducing Energy Poverty” financed by the Government of Japan and implemented by UNDP Serbia in cooperation with the Ministry of Mining and Energy and the Ministry of Environment Protection. We enjoyed in a wonderful day and in the energy of the new generation of engineers!
