Belgrade Waste Management PPP project with its state-of-the-art facilities transformed the whole area. EfW plant is in commissioning phase, infrastructure and green belt around the plant is completed. We are getting closer to using waste for the generation of heat and electricity, as well as reducing the amount of waste going to the newly built sanitary landfill in Vinča and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The Landfill Gas Plant is also under the final phase of installation, while the Leachate Treatment Facility is in trial run period. The new cells of the sanitary landfill were put into operation in August 2021, as well as the CDW recycling facility. New cells of sanitary landfill are under construction. The latest stage of works as per the PPP Contract includes the remediation of the old landfill and its capping with mineral material and geosynthetic membrane and the construction of wells network and landfill gas collection system.
