After completion of construction of reinforced concrete structures, key equipment for the Energy-from-Waste plant have started to be delivered and installed, for energy utilization of 340,000 tons/year of municipal waste. After the commencement of boiler, stack, and flue gas treatment equipment erection a steam turbine and generator set has just been delivered and lifted on its foundations.
30.24 MW of power will be delivered to EPS through 110 kV transmission system to transformation substation “Belgrade 20” and further through the power distribution system to consumers in Belgrade.
56.5 MW of heat will be delivered to Beogradske elektrane through the district heating pipeline which will connect the Energy-from-Waste plant in Vinca with the heating plant “Konjarnik”, from where it will be supplied to consumers in Belgrade.
Instead of fossil fuels, municipal waste, will be used to produce energy, which will largely reduce greenhouse gas emissions and significantly contribute to climate change mitigation.
Integrated waste management will contribute to a faster transformation towards a circular economy and the achievement of sustainable development goals.
