Belgrade Waste Management PPP Project as example of good practice, has changed the way waste is managed, introduced EU Standards in waste management in Serbia and it will improve level of environmental protection through reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
Mr. Mitsuaki Harada took part in the panel “Energy Transition Climate Crisis Next Steps”.
His Excellency the Canadian Ambassador to Serbia Mr. Giles Norman, IFC’s Regional Manager for the Western Balkans Mr. Nikolas Marquier, accompanied with Trade Commissioner at the Embassy of Canada Mr. Filip Petrović and IFC Officer for Serbia Mr. Bodin Bulatović, visited Vinča Waste Resource Recovery Center.
Among the variety of qualified projects, Belgrade Waste Management PPP Project has been awarded a Public-Private Collaboration Award at the World Economic Forum’s Urban Transformation Summit taking place in Detroit, Michigan on 9th October 2023 for the proven PPP project contributions to urban transformation and development, environment protection improvement, CO2 emissions reductions and achieving several key Sustainable Development Goals.
Mr. Olivier Becht, the esteemed representative of the French government serving as the Minister of Foreign Trade, along with H.E. Pierre Cochard, the French Ambassador to Serbia, Ms. Sara Pavkov, State Secretary of the Ministry of the Environmental Protection, and representatives of Beo Čista Energija visited the facilities within the Vinča Waste Resource Recovery Centre.
