It was great pleasure to welcome participants of the project Zero food waste education of “Z” generation of European citizens, this week. The visit was part of the ZeroFoodWasteExpo held on 6th of March in Belgrade (https://zeewaste4.eu/)
The ZeeWaste4EU project aims to encourage and create awareness among young people and the general public about the importance of preventing and reducing food waste. Vinča Resource Recovery Center and newly established modern waste management system in Belgrade was very interesting to our visitors, professors, from the University of Zagreb Faculty of Agriculture, Tallinn University of Technology, University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine Bucharest, University of Salerno and Institute of General and Physical Chemistry Belgrade.
Beo Čista Energija and VWVO employees presented facilities during the site tour.
We were happy to exchange experiences and hear more about the solutions of waste management system on different markets:
- Waste education is the same, but circumstances, development and knowledge implementation are different.
- Waste management results depend on public strength to change awareness of citizens, educate and to embrace the fact that long-term efforts will provide longstanding results.
We concluded that we are all on the same mission – to create a more sustainable future for generations to come!
