Beo Čista Energija recently hosted several distinguished guests at the Vinča Resource Recovery Center, where they were given a tour and presentation of the facilities.
- Mr. Dejan Bojović, Secretary General of the Serbian Association for Demolition, Decontamination and Recycling, along with representatives from the Secretariat for Environmental Protection of the City of Pančevo and PUC, visited the Center and discussed about modern disposal of construction and demolition waste. The construction and demolition waste recycling unit, which has been operational since August 2021 and has a capacity of 200,000 tons per year, captivated their attention. The City of Pančevo is considering implementing a similar solution.
- We had the honor and pleasure of hosting Mrs. Milica Uraz, director and Mrs. Maja Muškinja, operations director at Steel Impex, a renowned waste recycling company, leading the way in waste recycling in Serbia. Our guests, who are pushing the boundaries in waste recycling in Serbia, were impressed by the control room of the Energy-from-Waste Facility. All participants and partners in the Belgrade Waste Management PPP Project, together with Steel Impex, implement modern practices in waste management.
- Mr. Oliver Lepori, executive director of JBAS, together with his colleagues, visited the Energy-from-Waste Facility in Vinča. The PPP project in Belgrade is a Japanese-French project, and Beo Čista Energija (which is a special purpose vehicle founded by the French Veolia Group, the Japanese Itochu Corporation and the Margarita Fund) nurtures relations with the Japanese community in Serbia. JBAS representatives had numerous questions and expressed their support for Belgrade waste management system to be successful.
The waste management sector in Serbia is progressing significantly thanks to dedicated professionals who are driving both business development and environmental protection. We at Beo Čista Energija are honored to collaborate with such esteemed experts in this domain.
The implementation of the project “Vinca Recourse Recovery Centre Project” was supported by UNDP Serbia through the project “Innovative and Just Green Transition as Tool for Securing Systemic Energy Security and Reducing Energy Poverty” financed by the Government of Japan and implemented by UNDP Serbia in cooperation with the Ministry of Mining and Energy and the Ministry of Environment Protection.
