Beo Čista Energija and Veolia Waste Vinča Operator warmly welcomed graduate students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in the Vinča Resource Recovery Center.
During this visit, arranged as part of their course Waste and Wastewater Management, students visited the entire complex and all facilities within it, namely the new sanitary landfill, the construction and demolition waste recycling facility, the leachate treatment facility, the landfill gas facility. They also had an opportunity to enter the Energy-from-Waste Plant, currently in the commissioning phase, and which will soon start treating 60% of municipal waste generated in Belgrade, thus generating heat and power from waste.
Beo Čista Energija collaborates with great pleasure with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and enables students to better visualize what they have learned in classroom to the real industrial situations and see large-scale industrial processes and equipment. The New Vinča Resource Recovery Center is first of its kind in this part of Europe and of great importance for students to get familiar with the state-of-art and complex technologies.
