The EBRD delegation visited new facilities of Vinča Resource Recovery Center, namely the newly built engineered sanitary landfill, construction and demolition waste recycling facility, leachate treatment facility, and the Energy-from-Waste plant (EfW).
Mrs. Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) was accompanied by Mrs. Francesca Foglia, Adviser to the President, Mr. Oleg Levitin, Head of Political Affairs, Mr. Matteo Colangeli, Director for Western Balkans, Mrs. Jelena Čeperković Associate Director, and Mrs. Bojana Vlajcic, Associate, Donor Visibility and Communications.
The Managing Directors of Beo Čista Energija had the pleasure to report to one of project biggest creditors about progress on the project and that starting from mid of 2023 Beo Čista Energija expects to deliver to the City of Belgrade and its citizens full range of waste treatment and disposal services and start energy recovery from the communal waste. Energy from Waste facility is presently in the last stage of hot commissioning and reliability tests and once completed it will be the first EfW plant in Serbia and Balkans region.
The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) is financially supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development who provides EUR 128 million, while the remaining credit loans up to the EUR 290.5 million are syndicated by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Austrian Development Bank (OeED) in addition to equity investment of around EUR 90 million provided by ITOCHU Corporation, Veolia and Marguerite Fund.
